Many researchers, scientists, and doctors of many types and origins, have come to the conclusion that the root of disease and health problems begin within the digestive system. Here are some simple facts to consider as they pertain to the function of the digestive system:
The Stomach
Secrete some enzymes and hydrochloric acid (HCL) to break down protein. Within 2-6 hours, all food is emptied into the small intestine.
The Small Intestine
Over 90% of digestion and absorption takes place here. The acid of the stomach is neutralized and food is mixed with enzymes, bile and pancreatic juices.
The Liver
Aids in digestion and detoxification of food impurities and inspects nutrients before allowing them into the bloodstream.
The Gallbladder
Stores bile used to break down dietary fat.
Pancreas
Produces digestive juices and helps control blood sugar.
The Basic Function
The basic function of the digestive system is the breakdown and assimilation of foods, primarily carbohydrates, fats and proteins.

Cleansing to the body is what changing the oil is to your car, or what dumping out the garbage is to keeping your kitchen free from rot and foul odors. Intestinal cleansing is a process that has been practiced for thousands of years with the soul intent to rid the body of accumulated toxic waste.
Cleansing is a natural method of using pure grade substances from nature, in order to clean out the intestinal track. The object is for the cleanse to work like fine scrubbing in the kitchen, so that no bugs or germs will have their reasons for hanging around. Please keep in mind it is not meant as a cure for any disease or ailment.

Colonic Irrigations

A colonic irrigation can be very
beneficial with assisting your intestinal cleansing process. However,
they are absolutely no substitute for an intestinal cleanse program.

Colonics cannot reach the small
intestines because of a one way valve, called the ileocecal valve. The
ileocecal valve prevents all fluid from moving upward into the small
intestine, including fluid used with colonic irrigation system. Colonics
may help assist the cleansing process and exercise the colon, initiate
the body's detoxification process, and decrease the symptoms of
toxicity. In addition, deformation and contamination are alleviated,
allowing the colon to function properly. Plaque
adheres like glue to the wall of your intestines A good cleanse program
using herbs will condition the plaque so it will break away. When it
breaks off washing out the colon through colonics will help move the
toxic particles out before they can be reabsorbed into the bloodstream. A
colon irrigation is a safe, effective method of cleansing the colon
(bowels) or waste material by gently, repeated flushing with water. They
work better than an enema or colema board. During the session, water
flows into the entire length of the colon which is 4-5' long. In
contrast, enemas only reach the first 12" of the colon or less.
During a session, you would lie on your back modestly
draped. A small plastic tube is gently inserted into the rectum
about 3-4 inches. Water (purified should be used) flows through the tube
by the force of gravity (not pumped or mechanically forced) into the
colon. As the colon fills with warm water there is a feeling of wanting
to eliminate, which occurs naturally with no exposure to the material or
odor expelled.
What you may eliminate, is visible through a clear
viewing tube. It is relatively painless, although there is a
possibility for mild cramping as the feces moves through the colon. Some
therapist use additional tools such as essential oils, massage, etc. to
help assist you with the elimination from your colon.

Keep in mind, friendly
bacteria can be destroyed when you take a colonic, especially if there
is chlorine in the water. More than likely if you need a colonic your
colon has already been overrun by the harmful bacteria. So, it has been
recommended to take a general pro-biotic formula.

Why
Intestinal Cleansing is Vital for Good Health

Considering how detrimental toxic substances are to your health, regular detoxification becomes critically important. The process of detoxification has to involve the entire body
and especially, the gastrointestinal (GI) tract.
The GI system basically performs 2 functions: digestion/ absorption of nutrients and elimination of waste products.
But as time goes on, these waste products tend to accumulate and interfere with normal function. The intestines of most people contains up to 10 lbs. of fecal matter, undigested food remnants, mucus, putrefied remains of dead microorganisms, slime and other
unpleasant things.
This promotes increased proliferation of unfriendly bacteria, yeast and parasites, while the beneficial bacteria (Acidophilus, Bifidus and others) become less numerous. Who
needs it? Or why?

We are not saying that all 99% of you will agree, but 99% of all the people who read this need to do an intestinal cleanse. Why? Because, 99% of the people suffer from constipation on some level.
Intestinal cleansing is different than simply detoxifying the body. Intestinal cleansing is intended to rid the body of the
"Mucoid plaque" which harbors poisons within it. Most detoxifying programs are designed to rid the body of only poisons. They are not designed to remove the plaque. Meaning even if we try to remove the poisons from the liver, blood, skin, etc., as long as the plaque remains in our intestinal tracks there are still poisons

Constipation is caused from many layers of undigested foods that become a sticky, slimy substance known as

It maybe that all of this sounds crude and discouraging, but there is a bright side to becoming aware of the answers to these questions. We all have choices with solutions to bring about the flip
side.
On the flip side, a good intestinal cleanse will dislodge this "mucoid plaque" from your internal walls. It will help remove the sludge and free up your internal space, all of the crevices, corners, and straight-aways and allow the fluids to be delivered to your cells at top speed for better performance.
Think of your blood as you do the oil in your car. You need to give it clean, pure oil of the best quality, to get the best performance for as long as possible. If the oil in your car is contaminated it doesn't take long for those contaminants to effect other parts of your engine.
The blood in your body obtains much of its makeup from what it absorbs in the small and large intestines. It is your choice how pure (or contaminated) your blood (and ultimately your organs) become. The performance and mortality of your vehicle is ultimately up to you.

Flora (good intestinal bacteria) is very important for any cleanse because as we are getting rid of the bad bacteria while cleansing and detoxing, we are also depleting our good bacteria, which our
body needs. So, as you can see it is necessary to rebuild intestinal flora with a source of combined bacteria that supports the human digestive system.
The wall of the intestine is not smooth, it has numerous sacks or pouches. These pouches can become inflamed, causing a condition known as pouchitis. It is somewhat similar to another condition - diverticulitis - in which pathological sacks (diverticuli) become inflamed.

Let's look at the "friendly" residents ~
the bifidobacteria ~ of which there are three main species that play a crucial role
in human health: B. longum, B. bifidum and B. infantis.
Between the fourth and seventh day among breast-fed babies, bifidobacteria normally outdo the rest of the field. One of the chief reasons breast-fed babies get markedly fewer infections than formula-fed ones is that mother's milk tends to promote superior growth of bifidobacteria in the GI tract.
The levels of beneficial bifidobacteria decline dramatically as the human body ages. Some researchers believe this steep decline is due to gradual disruptions and changes in the acid/ alkaline balance of the bowels; which may trigger the growth of harmful pathogens and the eventual onset of chronic degenerative

Many people have used various acidophilus products with temporary success only to later find that they had merely exchanged one set of problems for another. Few, however, have realized this because it is so difficult to trace symptoms back to the cause. Most bacteria formulas (probiotics) contain a predominance of acid-producing bacteria (Lactobacillus acidophilus etc.) which are highly beneficial under various pathogenic conditions. However, when used consistently, these bacteria contribute towards abnormal bowel acidity, which may be very challenging to the electrolyte balance as well as to a healthy bowel environment.

When you stop to think that 25 to 35% of the fecal matter is composed of bacteria, it becomes plain that there is a great deal of substance that must be fed. The more acidophilus we take, the harder our bodies must work to compensate for the increased acids. As already explained the optimum pH range for most of the digestive enzymes in the bowel is about 7.5.

The substances mentioned in the list above, and many other ingested ingredients are leading causes to the build up of what has become known as 'Mucoid Plaque'. Some of the simple symptoms of 'trouble ahead' are often recognized as constipation, gas pains,
diarrhea (or runny stools), and such.
To often these issues are brushed aside and laid to rest when the feeling vanishes. The results leave the body with the original (root) problem that masquerades within the body in other forms.

What many people don't realize is that the colon is only part of the problem. The small
intestine is even more important ( and to a lesser extent the stomach), because this is where most of the absorption of nutrients occurs.
Although, colonics can be beneficial by helping to
remove the debris that has reached the large intestine (colon), colonics cannot reach the small
intestine because of a one way valve, called the ileocecal valve. The
ileocecal valve prevents all fluid from moving upward into the small
intestine.
Think about this one. If you have eaten three times today, doesn't it make sense to you that you should have had at least three bowel movements today?

By the way, where do you think the rest of the fecal matter is, if you have not expelled it?
If you are not having at least the same number of bowel movements a day as the number of meals (including snacks), where do you think the excess of waste is going once the body extracts the nutrients it needs?
What is the decaying process for any fecal matter that remains lodged in a corner that your body has not yet eliminated?
How does it effect the other elimination organs?
As many of us know the largest elimination organ is the skin, do you ever wonder why you have so many problems with it?
When we create our own buildup of toxins with 'fuel' (food) that our bodies are not designed to digest; the nutrients have a great deal of trouble getting absorbed properly because the plaque inhibits proper absorption, and the fuel we use lack enzymes that are needed for digestion.
Even a thin layer of mucoid plaque reeks havoc on the body. Now what occurs with absorption is that some of these toxins (remember these are poisons) from the 'mucoid plaque' are also absorbed and being fed into your organs.
